On Sunday evening Christina Aguilera had the honor of singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl which was held at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Texas.
After finishing the sentence “Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,” Aguilera sang «What so proudly we watched at the twilight’s last gleaming,” instead of “O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming.”
Aguilera who is rumored to be devastated by the mistake rapidly released a statement which read:
” I got so caught up in the moment of the song that I lost my place.” “I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through.”
What do you think did the “true spirit anthem still came through.” or did she just blow it and over sing the rest?

I agree, just awful. An anthem should make you feel some pride, not feel your lunch coming back up!
