Fun Fact #109: Ozzy Snorts Fire Ants
Everyone knows the story about Ozzy biting a head off a bat, onstage in 1982 (he thought it was a fake one). Less well known is the time he snorted a line of fire ants in a bid to impress Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx.

Fun Fact #39: Blond Elvis

Until his late teens, Elvis was blond!

I don’t think he suited being blond.

What do you think, would Elvis have rock it with golden locks to match his gold records?

In 1977 Marvel Comics and Kiss decided to do a series of comics called “Super Special Kiss”. To ensure that the comic would sell well, Marvel and Kiss came up with a great marketing campaign. The comic would be printed in real Kiss blood. On February 21st, 1977 the band’s blood was collected at the Nassau Coliseum and delivered to Borden Ink Plant in Depew, New York. Kiss made a special appearance at the plant and mixed their blood into the red ink.

Fun Fact #31: Special Agent Elvis

Elvis’s Special Agent Badge

After hand delivering a letter to the northwest gate of the White House to president Richard Nixon on the morning of December 21, 1970 a meeting between the president and the King of Rock & Roll was arranged for 12:30 pm that day. The purpose of the letter and the meeting was Elvis’ desire to become an agent of some kind for the Drug Enforcement Agency to aid in the fight against illegal drugs (ironic, given that Elvis was heavily medicated at the time).

Elvis met with the president in the Oval Office of the White House, where he presented the president with a plated and engraved World War II-era Colt 45. In the meeting Elvis talked about his wish to help in stopping the promotion of anti-American spirit (specifically mentioning the Beatles) and drug use. Later that afternoon Presley received his badge from the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs making him an honorary special agent.

Fun Fact #52: Where is Madonna’s star?

Madonna does not have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She was selected for the honour in 1990 but she showed no interest and the invitation has now expired. Walk of Fame spokeswoman Ana Martinez-Holler states that, in order to receive a star, Madonna would have to be “resubmitted for a nomination,” adding, “since she is not interested, I highly doubt that she will give a nominator the permission to do so.”
